Generative Art in Natural Space #1 (Tiat Residency)
April 10th 2026
Description:
we are not inventing new technology but rather discovering it
This project titled Generative Art in Natural Space #1 explores placing generative visual systems into natural environements in order to represent natural forms of computation. This piece features a photo of a dense coastal redwood forest with a triangulated mesh pattern floating and connecting to different landmarks in the image. This triangulated mesh represents the different stages in the colonization of a fungal network. Similar to how we use technology to communicate accross the world, fungal networks solve computational problems such as finding shortest paths, distributing resources, rerouting around failure etc.
