Description:

This was a position with California College of the Arts assisting Professor Graham Plumb in instructing the Interactive and Design students to build their own choose your own adventure narrative interative experience. My role was to create custom TouchDesigner software to power an immersive, 4-projector interactive environment as well as architect a modular media server capable of mapping panoramic walls and 3D foreground objects, while maintaining bi-directional synchronization with an Ableton Live musical score. Interaction occured with buttons that would trigger scene changes based off the desicions of the participants.



Specs:





  • Modular A/B Scene Architecture - custom 20-channel crossfade matrix 

  • Projection Mapping - Integrated hardware-level edge blending and geometric correction with software-based masking (Kantan Mapper).

  • Custom Python resource manager - dynamically monitoring the show state. Actively loads upcoming 4K ProRes media into RAM via a "soft sleep" protocol.

  • Bi-Directional TDAbleton Show Control - Custom timeline sequencer integrated with Ableton Live. Fires visual scenes and audio locators synchronously and auto-stop tracks.

  • Button interation using zigbee devices.
